Dear Westwood Shores, Municipal Utility District Residents,
Due to the ongoing and persistent flooding Westwood Shores Municipal Utility District is in emergency management mode checking, operating, and monitoring all district facilities. Our technicians and responders are currently in the district and reinforcements are in route; some are facing difficulties reaching their destination due to road closures.
Due to the nature of this week's weather, we recommend the following tips homeowners may consider:
- If this is an emergency, please call 911 and remember that due to flooding and road closures, it may take additional time for emergency services to reach you.
- Please monitor your local news for any emergency/weather updates.
- If flooding is eminent as a preventive precaution, it is recommended that you remove sewer clean out cap to minimize possible sewer back up into you home.
- Install stoppers in the tubs may prevent backflow.
- Turn off the main water line to your house may prevent broken pipes caused by flooding from adding to any damage.
- Consider calling your insurance for damages and taking videos/pictures for any claims.
- We recommend, if life or property is threatened, please call local governmental entities and emergency response personnel for rescue efforts.
Please check with your Local News and the Westwood Shores Municipal Utility District Website for additional updates. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding during this emergency.
Sincerely,
Management,
Precision Utility LLC
